A particular mention must go to a DTI witness, Robert Mason. Mason described in court how he visited Abbots Road on February 1st where transmissions on 1332 Khz had been traced to the rear  of the garden of number 87. After clambering over a gate he found two aerials, one on the roof of the house and another which spanned the whole garden.     Well done Robert you'll go far, (the further the better!).

Radio Jackie had operated 24 hours a day for over 12 months from the same site. The authorities, who by now turned a blind eye to their activities had rather been forced into acting against Jackie because of the greed of one man, namely John Aumonier. He was the owner of the Crawley based IBA station Radio Mercury and he claimed Radio Jackie's activities were depriving his station of potential advertisers so he took out a court injunction against Jackie. Let us hope that none of Jackie's former advertisers pumped money into Aumonier's station. This man was also responsible for the short lived and rather farcical stations operating out of Gatwick and Heathrow known as "Airport Information Radio" which came on air in June 1990 and went off the air shortly afterwards! (due to lack of advertising revenue, now there's poetic justice for you!).
