Not much to see in Harwich these days
(was there ever I ask myself), the main attraction being a former lighthouse
now home to a radio museum.
Inside view of part of the museum showing some vintage wireless receivers.
Different levels of the lighthouse show the evolution of radio through
the ages ending up with a definite offshore flavour on the ground floor.
It's a shame none of the radio's appeared to work or perhaps they were
simply not plugged in. The curator was rather vague when asked about one
of the life buoys from the Communicator on display, 'must have been washed
up on the beach one stormy night' came the curt reply!.
Another attraction attempts to recreate the sound of RNI but only for 28
days.
